Kate is an aviation lawyer, a municipal law lawyer, and the first lawyer in Canada to merge municipal law and aviation law into a single practice. She is the founder of CAYRES, the Canadian-based agency for AAM community integration, conflict resolution and risk management. The mission of CAYRES is to assist industry, law, government, and our communities to collaborate to obtain the benefit of AAM’s power to connect underserviced regions, improve equitable access to goods and services by air, and integrate all modes of transportation for net zero targets. CAYRES is a member of the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) and the Aerial Evolution Association of Canada. Prior to pioneering an AAM law practice, Kate obtained a gliders’ pilots license, a commercial pilots license , an Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph, and an LL.B. from Western University. Kate is a passionate and long-time member of the International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA). Kate is also the Chief of Staff, Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Pivot Airlines, a Canadian 705 air carrier playing a key role in the equitable deployment of aircraft and infrastructure, including new technology.
