Carlos Ruella was born in Caracas, Venezuela. From a young age, he was interested in engineering and machines, and started building and flying remote controlled planes at age 12. Carlos started his professional career at Esterline CMC Electronics, where he performed various roles from Simulations Developer to Deputy Program Manager. Carlos holds an undergraduate degree in electronic engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He joined the RPAS Task Force at Transport Canada in 2019, where he took the role of RPAS Research and Development Program Manager and is currently the Acting Manager of the RPAS Engineering Team.
