Description

Organizations within the Canadian Public Safety Sector are facing considerable challenges in meeting NG911 deadlines, with few exceptions. Saskatchewan, despite its relatively small population, has distinguished itself through a collaborative spirit characterized by mutual support. This approach has been instrumental in enabling the province to proactively sustain and enhance its public safety infrastructure. Saskatchewan's pioneering framework has facilitated the establishment of a fully interoperable communication system, ensuring uniform service quality across all communities. Supported by robust legislative frameworks, provincially endorsed communication networks, and cohesive standards, this innovative model has successfully united all public safety entities in our province under a unified platform. These initiatives have not only enabled Saskatchewan to meet NG911 implementation deadlines, but also position public safety organizations in the province to shift their focus to “Next Generation” technology solutions  such as Public Safety Broadband Network (PSBN). Let’s peer through the veil to see what comes after NG911.
