Charlene Poranganel, a professional in training and emergency operations, is currently the Global Public Safety Engagement Leader at General Motors. With over a decade of experience in public safety and emergency response, she plays a pivotal role in educating first responders on emergency services and how OnStar collaborates with them during critical incidents across Canada and globally.
Previously, Charlene managed emergency call operations at two sites, overseeing responses to vehicle crashes, in-vehicle emergencies, stolen vehicles, and missing persons cases for OnStar members in Canada and the U.S. She also spearheaded the implementation of a critical incident stress management program to support emergency call advisors within OnStar’s emergency operations centers.
Charlene is also a dedicated educator in mindfulness and conscious living, helping others find peace and clarity through the power of stillness. She has immersed herself in the study of conscious well-being becoming a certified Yoga Nidra instructor and a Chopra Global certified teacher and coach. Passionate about public safety and first responder collaboration, Charlene continues to lead initiatives that enhance emergency response effectiveness.
