Martin McCulloch is a seasoned professional in the public safety communications industry, with a focus on mobile voice and data communications for first responders for the past twenty-five years. In his current role at Waterloo Regional Police Service, Martin manages and supports a team of technology professionals that maintain the services’ operational readiness and ability to respond to their community’s needs.
Martins career path has provided him a broad understanding of the wireless communications industry. His career started with the Canadian radio spectrum regulator (ISED) and has seen him acting as a service provider, an integrator, an equipment manufacturer and finally as a customer. All of this primarily in the worlds of defense, aerospace, motorsports and public-safety.
He is a member of both the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP). He sits on the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Committee for CACP and recently chaired the working group who drafted the response submission to Public Safety Canada on the matters of PSBN. He also serves as a Director on the Executive Committee of the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC).
Martin is also a US and Canadian licensed drone pilot as well as flight reviewer for Transport Canada.
