To kick off the event, attendees can take part in a brief speed networking session to meet new industry contacts. The event will then feature an update on the CDA Dam Safety Guidelines Revision Project, followed by a technical presentation by Stantec’s Justin Saj on the Park Lake Dam Reconstruction Project. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with industry peers while enjoying food and refreshments.

  • Facilitate high-value networking opportunities for Manitoba’s dam industry professionals.
  • Share technical insights from regional dam reconstruction projects.
  • Provide important updates on the national CDA Dam Safety Guidelines revision.

Park Lake Dam Reconstruction Project

Learn how the Town of Neepawa and Stantec rebuilt the Park Lake Dam after its failure during an extreme 2020 weather event. The presentation will highlight the multidisciplinary engineering approach, including the revised IDF, geotechnical strategies for seepage control and stability, and the design of a 145‑m‑wide spillway meeting CDA Dam Safety Guidelines. Attendees will gain a focused overview of how the project team navigated site constraints, regulatory requirements, and material challenges to restore full dam functionality and long‑term resilience.
