Alberta was the first Canadian jurisdiction to have Next Generation 9-1-1 requirements included in provincial standards. This presentation will provide an overview of Alberta’s pioneering approach to provide deadlines and oversight for PSAPs as they make this important transition. The presentation will cover the importance of provinces and territories formalizing NG9-1-1 requirements in local Standards to ensure that CRTC deadlines and requirements are met. The Alberta 9-1-1 Program will take this opportunity to share experience and lessons learned from the 9-1-1 Standards development process.
