Magni Magnason is a public safety executive with more than 30 years of experience in emergency communications, emergency medical services, and public safety operations. He served for over two decades with the City of Calgary 9-1-1, including as Deputy Commander, where he was responsible for leading one of Canada's largest PSAPs through major incidents, planned events, and periods of rapid organizational growth. Throughout his career, Magni has managed large-scale emergency responses, critical incidents, technology disruptions, and major public events requiring the rapid expansion of personnel, resources, and operational capabilities. His experience spans 9-1-1 operations, dispatch services, incident command, business continuity, and emergency management. Today, Magni works with public safety agencies across Canada on NG9-1-1, emergency communications modernization, business continuity, and organizational resilience. Drawing on lessons learned from real-world incidents and leadership roles, he brings a practical perspective on how PSAPs can effectively scale operations during emergencies while maintaining service quality, employee wellbeing, and public trust.
