Charles plays a significant leadership role in the Advanced Aerial Mobility (AAM) sector by spearheading multiple research initiatives at the National Research Council Canada (NRC), where he is currently the Program Leader, for the Integrated Aerial Mobility (IAM) Program. Charles also has significant research and development experience in the industry, leading multi-disciplinary teams creating next generation Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems. Early in his career, Charles was highly regarded as the Boeing/Insitu ScanEagle RPAS site lead and operator during overseas deployment supporting the Canadian Forces. As a volunteer, for the past 14 years, Charles has been chair of the Unmanned Systems Canada (USC) Student Competition committee, maturing it into a world class, highly-competitive, highly valued annual event. Few have the breadth of knowledge and experience gained from high intensity military RPAS operations to complex commercial RPAS service delivery, including collaborating with multiple governments and performing leading edge RPAS research and product development.
