Stephanie is a UAV/GIS Project Coordinator and Researcher with the Centre for Innovation and Research in Unmanned Systems (CIRUS), an integral research arm at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) and has over five years of experience working in Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) technology. Stephanie has a background in Geographic Information Systems and holds her Transport Canada advanced operations RPAS pilot certificate with a flight reviewer rating and a Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification (ROC-A) and has helped train numerous RPAS pilots during her career. In 2020, Stephanie became a Certified Level I Thermographer and uses these skills on several different research projects using thermal heat signatures to identify objects of interest. Stephanie is also the primary liaison between Transport Canada and CIRUS is responsible for obtaining flight approval for the larger, more complex RPAS machines.
