Vanessa S. Werden is a partner with JML LLP and an experienced construction and infrastructure lawyer serving clients in British Columbia, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Vanessa provides advice and advocacy services concerning procurement models, contracts, builders liens, surety bonds, and mid and post-project dispute resolution, advancing and defending claims for payment, supervening events, defects, cost overruns, and delays. She has advised on major projects including hydroelectric power, telecommunications, healthcare, and wastewater infrastructure. She is recognized in Lexpert as “Repeatedly Recommended” for construction law, and for the past four years was voted by in-house counsel as a Thomson Reuters Stand-Out Lawyer. She is included in “Best Lawyers” in the area of construction law, a recognition achieved by just 6% of lawyers in private practice in Canada.
