Brent Lipinski, RFT, is a Land and Resource Specialist at the Ministry of Forests in the Okanagan Shuswap Natural Resource District. After 25 years with industry enjoying both timber development and silviculture, Brent made the move to specialize in wildfire risk reduction at the Ministry of Forests in 2018.
Brent’s current goal is to support the BC Wildfire Service, First Nations communities, and licensees to return prescribed and cultural burning to the land. It is time to embrace the reintroduction of fire into fire-maintained ecosystems, to remove the build-up of forest fuels, and ensure a resilient future.
A lifelong Okanagan resident, Brent can be found at the ski hill as much as possible in the winter, while his summers are spent enjoying local lakes and golf courses.
