Sydney Kucera, BA.Hons - Forest Professionals British Columbia
Any Forest Professionals British Columbia trainee seeking practising RFT or RPF licensure must demonstrate core competence in either forest technology or professional forestry, respectively. For trainees with unaccredited or international qualifications, core competence is demonstrated by completing the credential assessment process (CAP).
Forest Professionals BC, in partnership with Royal Roads University’s School of Leadership Studies, researched how CAP could be improved by gathering insights, perspectives, and ideas directly from current trainees and newly inducted practising registrants who underwent the CAP. This session will share what research participants had to say about their CAP experiences and what actions are taking place to improve the CAP as a result of the research.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will learn about:
- Trainees’ experiences and challenges when undergoing the CAP.
- How Forest Professionals BC is leveraging the research results for CAP improvements.
- What actions Forest Professionals BC is undertaking to improve the CAP for trainees.
