Rory Fogarty, RPF, MSc, RPBio, is currently a project manager for Consus Management Ltd. He has 13 years of experience in environmental consulting and applied wildlife research and management and has participated in and lead several large-scale research and inventory projects on ungulates and mid-sized carnivores throughout Interior and Coastal BC.
Rory holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University and completed a Master’s degree through Thompson Rivers University with a project looking at the factors affecting the declines seen in the Columbian population of fishers in the central Interior.
Rory has been involved with the BC Fisher Habitat Working Group since 2018 and has run numerous workshops for forestry professionals in different areas of BC to provide guidance for retaining important habitat features for fishers during forestry operations. He also has extensive experience in forestry-related wildlife management and believes that sustainable forest management can balance both environmental and economic values.
