Tracy Boyer is a mother of two, living and working in Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki, also known as Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is the Project Coordinator for the YWCA Halifax Shift Change Project which works to increase women’s economic empowerment in skilled trades from a systems change perspective. The project work includes convening a network of agencies, running a gender inclusive leadership training for male supervisors and engaging in ongoing learning about equity and decolonization to do systems change work. The project is run by a small and passionate team in partnership with sector agencies.
Tracy has work experience as a social entrepreneur and a community developer. She cares about learning, increasing equity and making a positive impact. She believes that people change systems to address inequity by building relationships, by reflecting on and changing worldviews, by learning together and sharing power.
