Speaker Bio
Liz Sandwith lives in Notre Dame, New Brunswick and is a Red Seal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician. At 37, Liz decided to change careers and went back to school to pursue her trade, a real change from her previous career as an office manager at a veterinary hospital! She spent her apprenticeship and beyond doing commercial HVAC/R service for Black & McDonald with UA Local 325 in Moncton, New Brunswick. She was the first Red Seal tradeswoman in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning in NB.
Liz is currently the NBMAP Coordinator (New Brunswick Mentor Apprentice Program) for MAP Strategic Workforce Services Inc., teaching soft skills to mentors and apprentices in skilled trades, with the goal to enable apprentices to get the most out of their apprenticeship experience. Liz is a strong advocate for skilled trades and apprentices and is currently Chair of the New Brunswick Chapter of Build Together-Women of the Building Trades.
In her down time, Liz enjoys the outdoors, camping and spending time with her family. She is the mother of three boys, the oldest two have followed the family path into Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (her 2 year old will as well no doubt!!)
