Dr. Kristin Marr
Speaker Bio
Dr. Kristin Marr is a Pediatric Oncologist with the Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplantation at BC Children’s Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital. She received her MD from the University of Toronto, followed by residency training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at BC Children’s Hospital. She completed her Masters in Health Sciences at UBC in 2017. She is the medical lead of the Pediatric Oncology Long-term Follow-up program at BC Children’s, where the team strives to provide individualized and comprehensive screening and surveillance for late effects after treatment for childhood cancer. She has active research interests in patient-centered and culturally-appropriate care of patients. She has special interest in the unique aspects of cancer care for adolescents and young adults, particularly in the transition to adult care. She is co-lead of a provincial Oncofertility Network with collaboration with Canadian Partnership Against Cancer to improve fertility and sexual health services related to the cancer journey. Outside of work, she is known to get overly excited with new hobbies, that recently include learning to play tennis, piano and acrylic painting.
