Najib Bouaanani is Professor of Civil and Structural Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal (Canada) and a licensed professional engineer in Quebec. He is Tier 1 Canada Research Chair on Numerical Modelling and Experimental Simulation in Earthquake Engineering and the Director of CEISCE, a Quebec funded strategic cluster of six universities dedicated to the effects of extreme loads and climate change on structures. He has been involved in several consulting and R&D projects on the design, modelling and safety evaluation of structures over the last 30 years.
