Mr. Kappel is President and Chief Meteorologist of Applied Weather Associates (AWA). Under his leadership, AWA has specialized in the development of Probable Maximum Precipitation (PMP) studies, precipitation frequency analyses, long-term climatological evaluations, meteorological trend assessments, forensic meteorology investigations, and the application of climate change projections to critical infrastructure. His work focuses on delivering high-resolution precipitation data that supports dam safety, mining operations, flood risk management, and climate-resilience planning.
