Dr. Vahid Pilechi is the Water Resources Team Lead at the National Research Council Canada’s Ocean, Coastal and River Engineering Research Centre (NRC-OCRE) and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), digital twinning, sediment transport, scour, debris interactions, and microplastics in aquatic environments. He leads multidisciplinary research initiatives aimed at improving the resilience of water infrastructure and advancing the application of numerical modelling in riverine and coastal engineering. Dr. Pilechi has authored numerous scientific publications and collaborates extensively with government, industry, and academic partners across Canada and internationally.
