Dr Zoran Micovic is BC Hydro’s Principal Engineer with 30 years of international experience in the water resources field. Zoran’s areas of expertise include quantitative risk assessments for dam safety with Potential Failure Modes analyses, flood hazard studies using both deterministic (PMP/PMF) and probabilistic/stochastic methods, watershed modelling, hydroelectric systems optimization, and spillway hydraulics including all aspects of modelling, design and construction.
Externally from BC Hydro, Dr Micovic provides advice and technical review on engineering design, dam safety decision making and risk assessments. He currently serves on several review/advisory boards for major dam owners including US Army Corps of Engineers, Tennessee Valley Authority, FERC/Southern California Edison, Hydro-Québec, Santa Clara Valley Water District, New Brunswick Power, TransAlta, and The Government of Alberta.
