Sylvain Renaud is currently a structural civil engineer at AtkinsRéalis' Water Power and Dams. He has a civil engineering degree from France (2013). He graduated from Polytechnique Montréal in 2019 with a Ph.D focusing on the development of multiscale models of the shear behaviour of dam-rock interfaces. Before joining AtkinsRéalis, he took part in several research projects including the numerical modelling of the seismic behaviour of dam-foundation-reservoir systems. He is now working in AtkinsRéalis since 2021 on various dam stability analysis and dam rehabilitation word projects. In 2016, he was awarded the Canadian Dam Association Research Scholarship. In 2024, he received the CDA Young Professional Award.
