Wael is a fluid mechanics engineer who specializes in the physical and numerical modeling of fluids. He’s a principal at Northwest Hydraulic Consultants with over 20 years of experience in hydropower and dams. Throughout his career, Wael has worked on numerous studies in the fields of modeling hydraulic structures, sediment management, river and coastal ice dynamics and wind engineering. He has worked on large scale hydropower projects in Canada including Eastmain-1/Rupert/Sarcelle and Romaine in Quebec, Keeyask in Manitoba and Site-C in BC. Wael is also a guest lecturer at Laval University teaching a course on physical and numerical modelling of hydraulic structures.
