Speaker Bio
Andrea Gunner, PAg, is the deputy registrar – practice for the BC Institute of Agrologists, the regulatory body that governs the professional conduct of 2,200 agrology professionals practising in BC.

Andrea has a strong background in farm business management, from primary producer to value-added processor, and has a rich history serving on community and industry boards and government panels.

As a professional agrologist for more than 30 years, working with for-profit, non-profit, and government organizations, she has successfully supported farmers, ranchers, and food-processing clients, producer co-operatives, farmers’ markets, First Nations, industry associations, and government, from municipal to federal levels.

Her diverse background spans sectors such as landscape nursery, nutraceuticals, and grain cleaning and processing. Her strong collaboration, communication, and project-planning skills have been instrumental in various initiatives, bridging gaps between agricultural producers and consumers to foster sustainable, economically viable food systems.

Alongside her husband, Andrea operates a certified organic, pastured poultry farm in the Okanagan. Their small-acreage operation, raising roasting chickens and turkeys, emphasizes soil building through intensive rotational grazing on glacial till. The farm mentors satellite farms and regional meat processors while directly supplying more than 500 households in the Thompson–Okanagan area.
