Daniel Persson, RPF, is the forestry superintendent at Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd. (CCR). He leads large-scale wildfire rehabilitation, fibre recovery, and reforestation initiatives in the Chilcotin.

Originally from Sweden, Daniel began working in forestry at the age of 14 and later earned a master of science in forestry degree from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Nearly a decade ago, he moved to BC to take on the challenge of working in one of the world’s most complex forest landscapes.

At CCR, Daniel has played a pivotal role in projects such as the 2 Billion Trees program, the Pressy Lake pilot, and the Palmer Lake project, advancing Indigenous-led forest rehabilitation and wildfire resilience. In 2024, he was recognized by Canadian Forest Industries Magazine as one of the Top 20 Under 40 foresters in Canada. His work reflects a commitment to forest stewardship, climate action, and Indigenous partnership.
