Speaker Bio
Joe Webster began his forestry career in BC in 1991, working his way from truck driver to operations manager through decades of hands-on experience and leadership in fibre recovery and biomass innovation.
Born in Edmonton, Alta., Joe entered the biomass sector in 2008 during a period of industry uncertainty. Tasked with helping Atlantic Power source fibre amid mill closures, he quickly built and managed a 24-hour operation that delivered consistent results and redefined his career.
After leading biomass operations for several companies, Joe joined Tolko Industries as operations manager in 2013. When his time there ended, he immediately transitioned to Tŝideldel Biomass Ltd., a Tŝideldel First Nation company and longtime partner of Central Chilcotin Rehabilitation Ltd. (CCR).
Known for his problem-solving mindset and ability to turn challenges into opportunities, Joe has played a key role in advancing Indigenous-led biomass operations, including the Pressy Lake and Palmer lake projects, the latter focusing on fibre utilization and wildfire recovery.
