Kobie’s entrepreneurial journey began in 1995. Kobie has spent over 25 years building, growing, and divesting successful companies in the services/people industries, while establishing a reputation as a high-performing, innovative entrepreneur and business leader.
In 2016, Kobie and his partners brought together their suite of traffic management services to form the Universal Group (UG), focused on safety, customer service and operational excellence. UG has grown into the largest traffic management company in the country, with revenues of over $200 million and 2,500 personnel, completing nine acquisitions in the past three years. UG in 2022 expanded into the US as part of their strategic plan, and in 2023 was named by Deloitte as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
