Thierry has a Bachelor of Civil Laws from Universite Laval in Quebec City, a Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria, and a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Thierry started his career in mining engineering with a predecessor company of Iamgold Corporation before attending law school and practicing business law with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Montreal and Farris LLP in Vancouver.

Thierry brings over two decades of experience in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, real estate investment and development, securities laws, joint ventures in the construction and natural resources industries, dispute resolution, restructuring, aboriginal law, and alternative investments.

Prior to returning to private practice with McLean & Armstrong, Thierry spent a decade in senior executive roles. During that time, Thierry acted as President of a leading US real estate developer, SVP Legal & Operating Partner Group for QuadReal Property Group, a top 20 global investor, and General Counsel for Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc., then a TSX listed company. Thierry acted on over $40 billion in investments and was instrumental in securing a 53.9% premium in Whistler Blackcomb’s $1.4 billion sale to NYSE listed Vail Resorts, Inc.

Thierry enjoys assisting entrepreneurs and investors on important transactions as well as day-to-day matters.
