Karen Walsh has been working in apprenticeship for over 20 years, 7 supporting youth apprenticeship and adult education and 14 years supporting the advancement of women in skilled trades. Karen was the Executive Director of the Office to Advance Women Apprentices (OAWA) in NL for 12 years and was successful in supporting organizations to have OAWA advance to five other provinces in Canada in 2019/2020 and most recently supports Alberta with its opening of 3 provincial offices. Karen is a firm believer that education, communication and partnership are vital in supporting the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the trades.
