Kelly Hoey is the Executive Director HIEC and ApprenticeSearch.com. With over 30 years of experience in career development and nonprofit leadership, Kelly has revolutionized career education and workforce development.

Her initiatives, including the impactful HIEC Career Lab, the annual Women as Career Coaches event, and the "Parents as Career Coaches" podcast, have empowered thousands of students and parents to feel inspired and optimistic about the future of work.

Noticing a gap in career education in the skilled trades pathway, Kelly led the team at HIEC to develop and launch the online community ApprenticeSearch.com in 1999. The platform, a first-of-its-kind online matching service that connects job seekers and employers in the skilled trades, has since been established as a leader in supporting apprentices and employers and a critical part of the skilled trades labour market.

Under her leadership, ApprenticeSearch.com has successfully transformed from a regional solution to local skilled trades labour market gaps to a national platform that addresses and removes barriers to apprenticeship.

In 2022, ApprenticeSearch.com partnered with CAF on delivering the Canadian Apprenticeship Service - supporting small businesses across the country as they hired and onboarded first year apprentices.

Kelly's work continues to bridge the gap between education and industry, fostering a skilled and thriving workforce.
