Tim Williams is an Associate Professor and Chair of MacEwan University's Department of Public Safety and Justice Studies, which offers a certificate in Emergency Communications and Response. With extensive firsthand knowledge of Canada's public safety and criminal justice system, Tim spent nearly two decades as a caseworker, halfway house manager, and parole officer before joining MacEwan. He has also served as VP of the Alberta Criminal Justice Association and is currently appointed as an Independent Chairperson, presiding over hearings in federal institutions. As a Co-Investigator in the Alberta CARES project (2024-2025), Tim aims to use the findings to update and enhance the curriculum of the Emergency Communication and Response curriculum and to inform development of a Bachelor of Public Safety and Justice degree that is currently underway.
