Yanhui Tong is an engineer working for Defence Research and Development Canada’s (DRDC) Centre for Security Science (CSS). She is presently a S&T Portfolio Manager that oversees the development of innovative solutions in the areas of emergency Communications, including emergency alerting and next-generation 9-1-1 systems. She began her career with the Government of Canada as an IT Project Lead in 2008 and spent most of her time managing IM/IT projects that delivered applications and data services to support operations before she joined CSS in 2019. Prior to her work with public sector, she spent 8 years at Nortel Networks on designing and developing applications for wireless communication systems and IP networking systems. She holds a M.A.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa.
