Sandy worked with Peel Regional Police for 22 years, 18 of which were spent working in Communications in various roles such as Communicator, Trainer, Quality Assurance specialist and Support Supervisor. In 2023 she was asked to take on the Business Lead position for the NG9-1-1 implementation at Peel Police, which went live in February of 2024, making it the first large Primary PSAP to go live with NG9-1-1 in Canada. She is an active participant with the CRTC Emergency Services Working Group (ESWG) and has been sharing NG9-1-1 lessons learnt with industry experts. In July 2024 she accepted the role of Division Chief of Training Accreditation and Communications with Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services and is looking forward to another NG91-1 implementation.
