What is ESWG and How Does It Work? Status of Current Activities!

Many people have heard or participate in the various tasks that ESWG delivers for 9‑1‑1 across Canada every day. This session will provide key insights on how ESWG works and how to participate in shaping the future of 9‑1‑1. As well, Ryan will provide the status of the many activities that ESWG is currently undertaking.

NG9-1-1 Lessons Learned from Key Stakeholders

The Bell NG9‑1‑1 network provides the vital components between the originating 9‑1‑1 caller and the Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). This portion of the session will provide key insights and vital guidance to ensure that PSAPs can prepare properly for their transition to ‘live’ NG9‑1‑1.

Dan Mongrain, eng., Principal Engineer - Standards, Motorola Solutions

This portion of the session will provide key learnings from a NG9‑1‑1 Call Handling System (CHS) vendor perspective. This is particularly important for PSAPs as you work to configure your respective CHS to meet your operational needs. In addition, an update on the important NENA NG-PSAP Standard and the current/future impact on NG9-1-1 in Canada will be provided by Dan.

Status of NG9-1-1 Implementation Across Canada

This presentation will detail the current progress of NG9-1-1 implementation in Canada for the 97 Primary and 145 Secondary PSAPs. It will also highlight the important lessons learned, and key areas that PSAPs need to focus on for NG9-1-1 network onboarding process.
