Tracy Ward is a Senior Consultant for Federal Engineering, Inc. and has worked in Public Safety for 32 years. Currently her work involves consulting with agencies regarding operational analysis of 9-1-1 communication centers including protocol usage and dispatch coordination with behavioral health programs. Tracy began her Public Safety career as a Sworn Police Officer for the Edmonton Police Service in Alberta, Canada. She worked frontline patrol, undercover drugs and narcotics, surveillance and in the 9-1-1 PSAP as a Dispatcher, a Training and Quality Assurance Sergeant, and retired as the Staff Sergeant in charge of PSAP Operations.
She founded and led a collaborative project to help Edmonton’s most vulnerable citizens navigate and connect with the programs they need and move out of the cycle of arrest-release-offend. This innovative effort has been recognized with the 2020 Canadian Association of Chief’s of Police (CACP) Motorola Solutions Community Safety and Well-being Award as well as the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police (AACP) Outstanding Service Award in 2018.
Tracy has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Certificate in Change Management from the University of Alberta. She is a NENA Instructor, an IAED Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD) Master Instructor, an ED-Q and is an active Quality Performance Reviewer. She is a longstanding member of the EPD Council of Standards.
