Kalie is an experienced Emergency Communications professional currently serving as the Operations Manager for the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Emergency Communications Centre. Edmonton's PSAP is the second largest in Alberta and employs over 150 Emergency Communications Officers to manage over 800,000 calls for service annually. She is responsible for Human Resources, Quality Assurance & Provincial Standards, Training, Recruitment, Hiring, Workforce Management and Employee Wellness within the ECC. Before joining EPS in 2021, Kalie was the office manager for the Fort Saskatchewan Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Detachment. She spent 12 years within ‘K’ Division RCMP in various roles including as a Community Peace Officer, Telecommunications Operator and Telecommunications Supervisor. She has a passion for employee wellness and is focused on improving workplace culture through transparent, ethical and people-centered management. Kalie implemented Employee Engagement Committees in her both her current and previous roles and has extensive experience in building Peer Support and Employee Wellness programs for first responders.
Kalie is a member of the Emergency Communications and Response Academic Advisory Council at MacEwan University and the Provincial 9-1-1 Standards and Quality Assurance working groups with the Alberta Emergency Management Agency. She has extensive experience in strategic workforce management, human resources in the union environment, and is a certified Field Coach and instructor in several different subject matters. She is a founding member of the Edmonton Police Service Chief’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, an executive member of the EPS 2SLGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, and the current Chairperson of the EPS Emergency Communications Employee Engagement Committee. In her spare time, Kalie enjoys running, golf and spending time with her family and dogs at the family farm.
