Denise has been in her role as the Workforce Advisor at the BC First Nations Forestry Council since 2019. Leading the Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program, she traverses the province to cultivate essential relationships within communities. Denise excels in building connections between students and the industry, consistently acting as a committed supporter and readily offering a sympathetic ear or helping hand to students facing challenges, ensuring their success remains at the forefront of her endeavors.
Denise’s multifaceted career journey, including roles in veterinary nursing, community support work, logging, and teaching heavy equipment operation, brings a unique and insightful perspective to her role as a mentor. Denise's commitment goes beyond professional boundaries; she is also a volunteer, rescuing wildlife for local rehab centers, a Leader in Trades representative for the BC Center for Women in Trades and can often be found exploring forest trails with her trusted sidekick, "Murphy."
