Shawn has spent his forestry career across BC working as a field-based consultant, licensee planner, and MOF employee before joining Thichum Forests Products, part of the economic arm of the Tla’amin Nation, located in the upper Sunshine Coast. He oversees forest operations, planning, and silviculture for Thichum. He also assists in land use planning, consultation, and resource assessment initiatives for the Tla’amin Nation.
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Dalhousie University along with a Technical Diploma in Environmental Planning from Selkirk College and a Masters of Sustainable Forest Management from UBC. Shawn is an RPF and is passionate about leading the change in the forest industry from an Indigenous-led stewardship focus.
