Phil Howe, RPF, is a TFL forester with the Englewood forest operation for Western Forest Products (WFP). He has more than 10 years of experience in harvest planning and forest management.

Originally from Ontario, Phil completed a bachelor’s degree with honours in forest conservation from Lakehead University in 2013. After working as a summer student for the Englewood forest operation, Phil he moved to Vancouver Island, where he gained a diverse forestry experience across five of WFP’s forest operations.

After receiving his RPF designation, Phil earned a diploma in business management and eventually returned to the Englewood operation.

In his current role, Phil is the planning manager and lead of implementation for the province’s first Forest Landscape Plan (FLP), TFL 37, between WFP and the ‘Namgis First Nation.

While the FLP is not finalized, Englewood staff and ‘Namgis First Nation have been working to re-envision what forestry looks like in the territory.
