Andy joined Toronto Paramedic Services in 2019 as a Call Taker and quickly advanced to Emergency Medical Dispatcher in 2020. By 2021, he became a Communications Training Officer, mentoring new staff. In 2022, Andy took on leadership roles as an Acting Superintendent in both the Communications Centre and the Education and Quality Improvement Unit, showcasing his dedication to improving emergency medical services. His contributions were recognized in 2017 when he received the Public Heroes Award on behalf of Toronto Paramedic Services.
Additionally, Andy has been an instructor at Seneca College, teaching the Communications Centre Technology course, and has volunteered extensively with the Distress Centres of Toronto, providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention. He also founded a company to teach First Aid, CPR, and professional responder courses, demonstrating his commitment to education and community service.
