Alexandra (Nax̌nagəm) Thomas, FIT, is a member of the Tlowitsis First Nation, with family ties to the shíshálh (Sechelt) First Nation. She works as the forest stewardship coordinator with the Nanwakolas Council, helping guide forestry planning, strengthen community engagement, and bring Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into land management.
Alexandra also works as a cultural educator, facilitating workshops for Nation partners to foster meaningful relationships between the natural resource sector and First Nations.
Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry Resource Management from UBC and is a registered Forester in Training (FIT). She is passionate about advancing Indigenous leadership in forestry and promoting stewardship approaches that draw on cultural teachings and relational worldviews to support sustainable land management.
